Special purpose machinery design
Benches, trolleys and transport tables, welding positioners, tilting systems, handling equipment. Modelling, assembly drawings and detail drawings.
Our expertise › Machinery design and conformity
Secure · Mechanical engineering
Special purpose machinery, high precision tooling, test benches and production equipment. We carry the study, the regulatory file and the manufacturing follow-up, through to acceptance. Fabrication is entrusted to workshops we select and supervise: we are a design office, not a manufacturer.
Services
Special purpose machinery is not a catalogue item: it is designed for one workstation, one flow and constraints that exist nowhere else. We work across the whole chain, or on the single link you are missing.
Benches, trolleys and transport tables, welding positioners, tilting systems, handling equipment. Modelling, assembly drawings and detail drawings.
Assembly jigs, drilling and inspection fixtures, machining supports. Functional dimensioning and tolerance chains held through to the delivered part.
Structural sizing, finite element verification, calculation reports you can rely on. Assumptions are written down, not assumed.
Compilation of the Annex VII file, risk assessment, instructions, assembly instructions and declaration. The file is kept for ten years and must be producible.
Choice of conformity route, with or without a notified body, preparation of the declaration and the marking. Directive 2006/42/EC today, Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 tomorrow.
Workshop sourcing, subcontractor coordination, manufacturing follow-up at the fabricator, load testing and determination of the safe working load, site acceptance.
Types of equipment
A few families of equipment taken from study through to acceptance. Client names, amounts and durations are not published, and neither are the drawings.

Positioner and welded frame
Holding and tilting structure, designed to present the part to the operator without effort or constrained posture.

Platform and handling equipment
Welded steel deck with fitted supports, sized for the load and for the lifting forces.

Welded sub-assemblies
Machined and assembled structural parts, inspected before surface treatment and integration.

Structural calculation model
Verification of sections and connections, with stresses and deflections read off at the critical points.
These items were designed by the engineers on our team over the course of their careers, and fabricated by partner workshops. We present them as their experience, not as firm references. HEMC owns no workshop and no production equipment: the photographs show items that came out of third party workshops, under supervision. The images were selected and cropped so that they carry nothing identifying a client.
Regulatory framework
CE marking of a machine is not a logo: it is a declaration by which a person takes on liability. The most frequent difficulty comes from one question badly settled at the outset, that of who the manufacturer is. A plant that builds a workstation for its own line is one, within the meaning of the directive, with every obligation that follows.
Directive 2006/42/EC is repealed with effect from 20 January 2027 by Regulation (EU) 2023/1230. The regulation brings requirements the directive ignored: software becomes a safety component, protection against corruption becomes an essential requirement, and a new category of products leaves no self-certification route at all. Machinery designed today and delivered in 2027 is decided now.
Describe the need, even roughly. We will tell you what is design, what is conformity, and what can wait.
